We had a lovely Christmas with the Brock crew and managed to completely fall in love with a new city while we were at it.
It was wonderful to enjoy the usual activities --- eating, church going, hanging out, catching up, gift opening --- and pair them with beach walks and stunning sunsets (and sunrises!), and the awesomeness that is salty air and constant sand in our shoes.
There was exploration, walking galore, shopping and all around merriment. The fur babes were excellent beach pups, and even Sydney got in on the fun. It warmed our hearts to see her experience the ocean and set off in a steady trot down the beach.
Matt was an exceptional host and graciously allowed us to crash not only his house but also his car for a week. He seems very happy and settled there, and it is easy to understand why.
It was another year of Christmas magic with those we love most, and I am so grateful for every sun soaked minute.
2011 was good to us, and we look forward to embracing 2012 at the stroke of midnight tonight.
