Our Christmas was lovely and it was so magical watching R's wonder throughout this season I love so much. I'm a bit mopey to be on the other side of my favorite time of year, but also excited about the year ahead and the adventure waiting for our little family.
On Christmas 2012, R's first, we woke up and did the normal baby things (bottle, cereal, etc.) and then rushed into the living room still pajama-clad to see what Santa had left for us. We opened presents and soaked up baby smiles and squeals and let our girl play with all the paper and ribbon she could handle. When she started serious eye rubbing action, I put my little elf down for a nap and then the adults enjoyed christmas mimosas. We eventually got dressed and sat down to eat an amazing feast prepared by Husband, Mom and Dad.
My brother left late Christmas night, and we were sad to see him go. R had a blast playing with her Uncle, and it was extra special that he joined us for her first go at the merriest of holidays. My parents leave tomorrow, and then we'll just be the mopiest. :) All joking aside, it was amazing as it is every year, only more so this year with the addition of our wee one. And I'm sad to see it end and to see our favorite people go as I always am. But I'm also aware of our blessings and thankful for this time together, thrilled to share these moments with those I love most. It all goes too fast, but I did pause a few times this year just to relish the time, to mindfully make a memory so I can pull them out any time I need a smile. There were so many opportunities for smile-making memories this year.
Hope yours was extra merry, too.

Hi friends, how is everything, and what you
wish for to say on the topic of this piece of writing, in my
