The past few weeks have been nutty and so this weekend has been all about relaxing and playing at home. I'm terribly behind in my efforts to document our life and specifically our summer here, but perhaps if I just dive in, I will eventually catch up? Here we go.
We have dined alfresco and slathered little limbs in sunscreen. Each night we snuggle over tired babies into their cribs after we scrub away the days fun imprints: sunscreen, dirt, sweat. Daddy drags out the wagon, the tricycle, the taxi cab, the cozy coupe, the basketball hoop and all manner of bubbles and chalk. City living requires that he trek around our block each night to return our sundry items of play to the garage. He doesn't seem to mind.
We began ordering birthday gifts for a sweet little girl's upcoming celebration. Three trips around the sun already? How can it be?
This morning found us back at the pool edge with our second foray into swim lessons. It was better than the first, but there was still fear and a few tears (that can really shatter a mama's heart). She was so brave as she always is and by the end she was following instructions and declared it a "super fun day!" I'm excited to watch her progress each week.
G made a million trips up and down our street, blabbering in his special little language all the way.
Netflix, wine, dinner on the grill, take-out. An ordinary weekend full of extraordinary moments. Just the way I like them.
